Pinterest is virtual bulletin board that lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. It’s a visual tool to quickly sort and save ideas, inspiriation, recepies, project details – anything you want. Not only does it store an image, it also allows you to categorize them into “boards” storing both the original web link and a thumbnail image.
Where Pinterest really shines, is that you can browse pinboards created by other people. When you find something you like on a friend’s board, you can share it, comment, or re-pin the link to your board. Pinterest is also integrated with Facebook, so you can spot trends and borrow ideas from people you like.
Just like Facebook's wall feature, pins that have high velocity spread quickly throughout networks. This can be a powerful tool for marketers, designers, stores, thought leaders, etc. to spread their products and influence to new audiences. Not only is Pinterest so great for discovering and organizing ideas, it's an amazing tool increase your own exposure and promote your products.
