ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n

- Responsible for ensuring all service associates embrace the safety culture and comply with all safety initiatives.<\/li>\n\t
- Mentor and develop associates for long-term opportunities to support growth of the individual and the organization.<\/li>\n\t
- Hire and onboard new service associates to set them up for success at ORR.<\/li>\n\t
- Oversee efficient scheduling of service and follow-up work.<\/li>\n\t
- Implement plans, programs, and processes designed to meet or exceed goals and maximize market potential as it relates to the service & emergency lines of business.<\/li>\n\t
- Resolve customer issues\/complaints.<\/li>\n\t
- Coordinate responses to discharges and other life-safety emergencies at customer sites.<\/li>\n\t
- Track and control costs in support of company\u2019s gross margin objectives.<\/li>\n\t
- Manage Field Service Technician\u2019s vehicle stock.<\/li>\n\t
- Complete technical and financial reviews.<\/li>\n\t
- Review the S&E report for pending work orders.<\/li>\n\t
- Partner with Sales to drive discrepancy quoting and follow-up revenue.<\/li>\n\t
- Responsible for conforming to and ensuring associates are knowledgeable and conforming to the OPS quality system.<\/li>\n\t

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND\/OR EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- High school diploma or equivalent education, required.<\/li>\n\t
- 3+ years\u2019 fire protections experience, required.<\/li>\n\t
- 1-year experience manager or leading a team, preferred.<\/li>\n\t
- Post-secondary education in related technical or business field, preferred.<\/li>\n\t
- NICET certification, preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse group of individuals including company leadership, regional staff, customers, and vendors.<\/li>\n\t

JOB SUMMARY<\/b><\/div>\n\nThe Fire Systems Designer works for the ORR Protection team to layout and design fire suppression and fire alarm systems for installation at customer sites. Designers convert input data into installation drawings in using CAD software, and to as-built drawings after installation. Designers are also responsible for production of submittal packages for the permitting and installation of the system. Designers are responsible for ensuring the design meets the applicable manufacturer\u2019s requirements, NFPA Standards, and local code requirements. Designers also help our field staff in obtaining technical information to assist them while they are in the field.<\/div>\n\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.<\/li>\n\t
- Evaluates system designs to ensure they meet appropriate requirements. This may include customer specifications, building codes, NFPA codes and standards, manufacturer manuals and bulletins, insurance carrier requirements or others dependent upon applications.<\/li>\n\t
- Prepares installation drawings that conform to input requirements. Suggests changes to the contracted scope for improvements in reliability, price reduction, or missing scope.<\/li>\n\t
- Support sales effort through performing applications analysis and pre-sales design work.<\/li>\n\t
- Supports the region the Designer works in by performing tasks requested.<\/li>\n\t
- Communicates via email and other electronic means regarding project information internally and outside the company.<\/li>\n\t
- Organizes workload and tasks autonomously. Communicates the status of each task to supervisor\/manager and internal customers on a regular and on-going basis.<\/li>\n\t
- Tracks work tasks using the company provided systems.<\/li>\n\t
- Organizes technical information for storage and retrieval by self and others.<\/li>\n\t
- Performs self-review of completed designs as part of the quality control process. Revises designs from feedback when received from the quality control reviewer of each project.<\/li>\n\t
- Attend required training courses related to job functions and for professional development including travel to the classes.<\/li>\n\t
- Research applications for fire systems and products. Become familiar with new applications\/products through active learning.<\/li>\n\t
- Perform field surveys to develop new designs, modify existing systems, or assist installation personnel in complex projects.<\/li>\n\t
- Interpret multiple types of trade drawings to coordinate between other trades.<\/li>\n\t
- Participate in the development of drawing standards and templates for new fire protection products.<\/li>\n\t
- Participate in engineering quality control activities.<\/li>\n\t
