We are offering an internship opportunity in our Accounting department. This internship offers an opportunity to perform work that affects the bottom line of a company dedicated to the protection of people, property and the planet and to experience a corporate culture that values passionate leadership and positive relationships. We are seeking a student who is available to work 20-30 hours per week.<\/p>\n\n
<\/div>\n\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Learn processes and tools needed to use Accounting software effectively and efficiently;<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t
- \n\t
Learn and assist with financial closing and reporting processes;<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t
- \n\t
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t
- \n\t
Provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed by doing fill-in work such as filing of A\/P payment details and A\/R invoices, etc.<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

Provide support to the accounting team by performing analysis or projects as assigned<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS <\/b><\/p>\n\n

At least a sophomore standing in Accounting, Finance or related major<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

Minimum 3.0 GPA<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and strong pursuit of accuracy<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate concepts and explanations<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities<\/p>\n\t<\/li>\n\t

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- All team members must embody the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment in all aspects of their job.<\/li>\n\t
- Identify prospects that match the profile of ORR Protection in the Data Center, Industrial, telecom, power generation and manufacturing industries.<\/li>\n\t
- Generate and follow up on leads by making contact with prospects and creating interest in ORR\u2019s offerings.<\/li>\n\t
- Communicate and interact with business decision makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements as well as market opportunities.<\/li>\n\t
- Lead and move prospects through the sales cycle<\/li>\n\t
- Perform proposal and contract review activities as required.<\/li>\n\t
- Negotiate and close sales that vary in contract length and fee range.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND\/OR EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- High school diploma or equivalent education, required.<\/i><\/li>\n\t
- Bachelor\u2019s degree, preferred.<\/i><\/li>\n\t
- 5-10 years of sales experience in fire alarm\/suppression or related industry, required;<\/i>\n\t
\n\t\t- \u200bRelated industries would include construction, building control, and other services within mission-critical environments.<\/li>\n\t\t
- Responsible for booking between $2-$3 million in installation or service contracts per year. <\/li>\n\t<\/ul>\n\t<\/li>\n\t
- Experience working in Salesforce or similar CRM software, preferred.<\/i><\/li>\n\t
- Proven track record of being successful in elements of a consultative sales role.<\/li>\n\t
- NICET, preferred.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES<\/b><\/div>\n\n\n\t- Knowledge in Fire Alarm systems, Special Hazards Suppression Systems, and other related fire systems.<\/li>\n\t
- Ability to identify potential leads and close sales. <\/li>\n\t
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n\t
- Computer literate in a Google Suite or Microsoft office environment (i.e. Docs\/Word, Sheets\/Excel, Google mail \/ Outlook).<\/li>\n\t
- Ability to work in a CRM system and accurately track information.<\/li>\n\t
- Strong time management skills.<\/li>\n\t
- Cost accounting\/ budgeting skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
